For the automotive industry, the advent of the rainy season means that the probability of vehicles entering water increases. Sunroof water, engine water, carpet water and other vehicle water conditions seriously affect the service life of the vehicle. Once the vehicle enters the water, all parts around the water inlet must be removed to remove the water and take waterproof measures. Due to the large amount of work to remove the parts, the cost is relatively expensive. If you want to prevent your car from being invaded by rain during the rainy season, you must do a good job of vehicle maintenance before the rainy season comes. This article mainly describes the maintenance of the car sunroof drainage system to prevent the sunroof from leaking in rainy days.

After the use of the dry season, the interior of the electric sunroof will accumulate a lot of dirt. For example: dust, leaves, insect bodies, etc. These sundries will be washed into the sunroof drain pipe by the sunroof guide rail or sunroof drain groove in the rainy season. The sunroof drain pipe mentioned here is generally connected to the sunroof drain outlet and the drain hole located near the door edge or hub rubber plate. The power sunroof is not completely sealed. When it rains, rainwater can enter the car through the gap on the edge of the sunroof. When rainwater enters the vehicle, it will pass through the drain groove, enter the drain pipe and finally drain out of the vehicle through the drain hole. When the drainage hole is blocked by debris, the water in the drainage trough is more and more, and there is no place to vent, exceeding the height of the drainage trough. Rain water will "invade" the roof trim (commonly known as "pile top") inside the vehicle. If the amount of water continues to increase, rainwater will flow out through the cracks at the edge of the "pile top. It flows to the carpet in the car, causing a large area of water on the carpet.

By setting a drainage groove on the sunroof bracket to buffer the rainwater entering the car from the sunroof gap; through the drainage pipe to divert the rainwater to the corresponding drainage hole, the problem of sunroof water ingress is solved in the project. However, when the drain hole is blocked by debris, water inflow will still occur.

In order to avoid leakage of skylight in rainy season, we need to dredge the skylight drain pipe at the end of dry season. The specific method is to align the muzzle of the high-pressure air gun with the entrance of the drain hole on the skylight, and use the high-pressure air flow to blow out the foreign matter from the exit of the drain hole. If the foreign matter cannot be blown out from the drain hole, align the muzzle of the high-pressure air gun with the outlet of the drain hole, and try to blow the foreign matter out from the entrance of the sunroof drain hole (at this time, please pay attention to pad white cloth or paper inside the car to prevent the dirt blown out from the sunroof from falling on the interior). Since the outlet of the drain hole is relatively narrow, if necessary, the outlet of the drain hole can be cut open to remove the foreign matter.

A smooth drain pipe can ensure that the rainwater entering the sunroof can be smoothly discharged out of the car to avoid water leakage. If your car is equipped with skylights, please unblock the skylight drain pipe before the rainy season.

Conclusion:
According to the author's years of maintenance experience, most of the reasons for the leakage of the skylight are caused by the blockage of the drain pipe. Therefore, as long as the owner's friends take precautions before the rainy season, they can reduce the troubles and losses caused by skylight leakage.
